• Job Description
• Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking a Senior Healthcare Analyst to join its Medicare Advantage Analytics team. This role will support critical Risk Adjustment initiatives by analyzing healthcare data, developing reports and dashboards, and providing insights that drive business decisions and CMS audit readiness.
• The ideal candidate has strong experience working with membership, medical and pharmacy claims, enrollment, and medical chart data, along with advanced analytical skills using SQL, Python, Databricks, and Tableau or Power BI.
• This is a high-impact opportunity to work alongside business and clinical stakeholders while supporting enterprise-wide Risk Adjustment and Medicare Advantage initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze healthcare datasets to support Risk Adjustment and Medicare Advantage programs
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Tableau or Power BI
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for reporting and analytics
• Utilize Python and Databricks for data preparation, automation, and advanced analytics
• Analyze membership, medical claims, pharmacy claims, enrollment, and medical chart data
• Respond to reporting requests through the team's ticketing system
• Identify trends and opportunities to improve business performance
• Present findings to business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
• Partner with internal teams to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
• Document reporting processes and analytical methodologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Public Health, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or healthcare analytics
• Strong experience with:
• SQL
• Python
• Databricks
• Tableau or Power BI
• Experience analyzing healthcare data, including claims, enrollment, membership, or medical records
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Medicare Advantage experience

• HEDIS or Stars experience
• SAS experience
• Oracle experience
• Experience presenting analytics to executive leadership
