Pay Range: $80,000- $120,000 annually

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and business-oriented Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst to support our organization within a fast-paced mortgage banking environment. This role will partner closely with Production or Corporate leadership, Sales, Operations, Capital Markets, Servicing, and Executive Management to provide financial insights, forecasting, reporting, and strategic decision support related to mortgage originations and operational performance.

The ideal candidate has strong mortgage industry knowledge, financial modeling skills, and the ability to translate operational data into actionable business insights. This individual must be comfortable operating in a dynamic environment where volume, margins, and market conditions change rapidly.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning processes for Production, Operational or Corporate functions ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Analyze monthly financial results and provide variance explanations against forecast, budget, and prior periods
  • Develop and maintain advanced financial models in Excel related to mortgage origination volume, pull-through, gain-on-sale margins, productivity, capacity planning, and profitability
  • Perform detailed variance and trend analysis, providing actionable insights to improve profitability and cost efficiency
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Capital Markets, and Operations to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignment
  • Support leadership in strategic planning, scenario modeling, executive reporting packages, board materials, management presentations and other various KPI reporting.
  • Identify and implement process and automation improvements to enhance forecast accuracy and reporting efficiency
  • Contribute to the development of metrics and dashboards to track key performance indicators
  • Qualifications:
  • 1-5+ years of experience in FP&A, accounting, or related finance role — preferably within the mortgage banking or financial services industry
  • Strong accounting foundation with understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow dynamics
  • Expert-level Excel skills including complex modeling, scenario analysis, and data automation
  • Experience with financial systems such as LoanVision, Workday Adaptive Planning, Oracle, Tableau, or Power BI preferred
  • Proven ability to synthesize large datasets into meaningful insights
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to present findings to senior leadership
  • Familiarity with loan origination, funding, and secondary marketing processes is a plus
