Job Summary - Senior Financial Analyst

  • Oversee finance and budget planning activities, including managing full budget plans for the People Tower Department.
  • Create and manage new budget requisitions, reconcile vendor invoices, and ensure timely payments.
  • Provide financial forecasting, planning analysis, and monthly KPI reporting to senior leadership.
  • Support finance and administrative operations, including accounts payable, requisition management, cost control, and accounting.
  • Perform general ledger clean-up and consolidate budget accounts to improve financial tracking and reporting.
  • Oversee and reconcile accounts receivable/payable, including DCAS accounts and expense chargebacks.
  • Manage the NYCT Employee Activity Fund Account and oversee HR s internal financial procedures.
  • Assign and track credit receipts, coordinate with the Controller s Office for deposits.
  • Coordinate employee pass processing, including handling lost pass applications and quarterly distribution.
  • Review, remove, and close non-value-added HR-related purchase orders.
  • Balance and reconcile non-labor budgets to optimize plan funding.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly non-labor budget plans and expense reports to support financial decision-making for department heads.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft FSCM, financial processes, and MS Office applications (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
  • Communicate complex financial information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Maintain compliance with Transit-wide policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in finance and budget planning, preferably in the public sector.
  • Expertise in budget management, financial reporting, and analytical tools.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
