Senior Financial Analyst

Our client, an iconic Canadian multinational distributor, is looking to add a Senior Financial Analyst to their Finance team for an initial 6-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent position.

• The Role
• As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in internal segment reporting, cost allocation, financial analysis, and performance reporting across complex business units. You will support period-end and year-end close activities while providing meaningful financial insights and commentary to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

• Key Responsibilities
• Leverage advanced financial and data analytics to provide actionable insights and support informed business decisions.
• Develop and maintain financial models for strategic initiatives, business cases, and performance analysis.
• Prepare financial reports, analysis, and supporting information for senior management, internal stakeholders, auditors, and external reporting requirements.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and reporting processes, including variance analysis and financial commentary.
• Lead internal segment reporting and ensure alignment with management reporting structures.
• Develop and analyze cost allocation and chargeback methodologies across business units.
• Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Ensure financial reporting is accurate, scalable, and aligned with IFRS/IAS requirements.
• Support finance system implementations, upgrades, UAT, testing, and process improvement initiatives.
• Analyze complex financial data and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and operational priorities as required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• 4–6+ years of hands-on financial analysis experience in a complex corporate environment.
• CPA or other accounting designation preferred, but candidates with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of financial processes, accounting principles, and IFRS/IAS.
• Experience with external financial reporting, preferably within the retail or distribution industry.
• Strong experience with segment reporting, cost allocation, chargebacks, and intercompany/intracompany transactions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power BI skills.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Fiori is a strong asset.
• Experience supporting system implementations, UAT, test scripts, and process enhancements.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
