Senior Financial Analyst - 12 month contract

This is a 12 month contract with permanent potential

Job Description:

• · Complete the full month-end accounting cycle, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• · Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results and management reporting packages.
• · Analyze transaction activity, settlements, and financial variances, identifying and resolving discrepancies as required.
• · Provide financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc support to business stakeholders.
• · Liaise with the internal and external audit teams to ensure timely and accurate audits
• · Maintain audit-ready working papers and support internal and external audit processes.
• · Interpret and apply accounting standards, corporate policies, and internal controls to business transactions.
• · Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• · Prepare regulatory and government filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established deadlines.
• · Support process improvements, special projects, and other duties consistent with the scope of the role.

About you:

• · 5+ years of experience in accounting with at least 2 years of industry experience.
• · Strong experience in financial reporting, month end close, internal controls, accruals
• · CPA designation or other internationally recognized professional accounting designation is required
• · Strong proficiency in excel
• · Experience with Oracle is considered an asset but not required
• · Industry experience in the energy retail sector is an asset but not required
