Senior Director of Customer Analytics and Insights
Our client, a leading global biopharmaceutical organization focused on transforming patient lives through innovative medicines in oncology and neuroscience, is seeking a strategic leader to join their Customer Experience Operations division. This senior leadership position is based in San Francisco and is essential to the company’s transition toward a capability-oriented operating model that prioritizes data-driven customer experiences.
The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for generating integrated, decision-ready insights across various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and payers. You will move beyond traditional reporting to influence how the organization prioritizes engagement and delivers value, ensuring that market research and analytics are embedded in every strategic decision.
Core Responsibilities
- Direct and scale global analytics and insights capabilities to facilitate faster, data-driven decision making.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of capability owners and analysts.
- Translate franchise and regional business strategies into prioritized analytics demands.
- Oversee the synthesis of complex data into compelling narratives that inform commercial execution.
- Manage significant budgets and strategic vendor partnerships to maximize performance outcomes.
- Partner with cross-functional leads in technology, legal, and commercial functions to ensure global standards and regional needs are balanced.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging automation and emerging technologies to streamline the insight-to-action pipeline.
Professional Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Business, Healthcare, Technology, or a related field.
- At least 12 years of experience in market research, customer analytics, or business insights.
- A minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, with specific expertise in synthesizing data for HCP, patient, and payer segments.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in people leadership, specifically managing managers and high-performing teams.
- Deep technical proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, patient journey analysis, and segmentation.
- Experience working within Agile product development or modern capability-based operating models.
- Proven ability to utilize systems thinking to understand organizational interdependencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree such as an MBA or relevant graduate degree.
- Experience in specialty brands or rare disease therapeutic areas.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI or automated workflows for enterprise-level performance reporting.
- History of managing distributed or matrixed teams, including onshore and offshore resource models.

- The position involves 20 to 30 percent travel.
