Senior Data Operations Engineer - W2 only

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Operations Engineer to oversee the stability, delivery, and efficiency of core data platforms supporting major automotive application domains. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining high-availability batch data pipelines, resolving production incidents, and enforcing high-quality code standards before deployment.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support and monitoring for batch jobs across cloud and on-premise data pipelines.
• Participate in on-call rotations and manage incident response following ITIL guidelines.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain Python, Java, AWS Glue, Spark, and database queries.
• Serve as a release gate reviewer to ensure code promotions meet operational readiness and security standards.

Qualifications

8+ years of production data operations and ITIL support experience.

Advanced hands-on experience with Python and Java.

Strong expertise with AWS Glue, S3, RDS, Oracle, and Apache Spark.

Extensive experience with the Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS and Impala).

Proven experience with Git repositories and pull-request gatekeeping.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting automotive or manufacturing applications.

Knowledge of containers (Docker), OpenShift, Terraform, or DevSecOps tools.

AWS, GCP, or Cloudera industry certifications.
