About The Role

Senior Data Engineer

Location: Home based

Your Role

  • Leading a small team of Azure Data Engineers
  • Creating and supporting Azure Pipelines and Logic Apps
  • Ensuring coding and deployment standards within an engineering team
  • Work with the applications and database team to meet the key business strategies and objectives.
  • Development of the warehouse to encompass more sources and additional datasets
  • Create and maintain SQL procedures, User Defined Functions and Views to support and maintain new and existing reporting requirements.
  • Proactively improve the performance, logical structure, physical structure and availability of the Data Warehouse and other reporting environments
  • Issue resolution for any incoming data inconsistencies
  • Work as part of the team to build and maintain the data reporting environments
  • Using SQL services to support the existing business solutions and technologies
  • To work with the team to ensure that core applications and strategies are aligned

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the standards within a development team
  • To support the build and support the maintenance of Data Flows and Integrations
  • Create and maintain complex SQL objects
  • Work as part of the team to build and maintain the data reporting environments
  • Using SQL services to support the existing business solutions and technologies
  • Work as part of the team to provide application and reporting development services/support
  • To work with the team to ensure that core applications and strategies are aligned
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and technology developments
  • Comply with and adhere to the documented quality standards and methods for development
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of our key business database, reporting and application systems
  • Team Code Reviews
  • Manage Deployment and co-ordinate work across the engineers

Your Experience

  • Experience in Azure Synapse and Fabric
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL development, SQL applications support or a similar role
  • Hands on experience with SQL 2016 onwards
  • Experience in creating support documentation.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining SQL object database security SQL
  • Expert knowledge of Azure Synapse / Fabric
  • Expert knowledge in transactional SQL, stored procedures, views and user defined functions
