Role Description The Senior Data Engineer contract role is a remote position responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. On a day-to-day basis, the Senior Data Engineer will develop and optimize ETL processes, implement data models for analytics and reporting, and support data warehousing solutions. The role includes collaborating with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, ensure data quality, and improve performance. The Senior Data Engineer will also monitor data systems, troubleshoot issues, document technical designs, and contribute to best practices for security, governance, and reliability in the data environment.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Data Engineering skills, including building and maintaining data pipelines and working with distributed data systems.
Candidates should possess Data Modeling skills for designing efficient, scalable schemas to support analytics, reporting, and application needs.
Candidates should possess Extract Transform Load (ETL) skills for developing, optimizing, and automating data integration processes from multiple sources.
Candidates should possess Data Warehousing skills for implementing and maintaining modern data warehouse or data lake solutions.
Candidates should possess Data Analytics skills to collaborate with stakeholders, interpret data requirements, and support business intelligence and reporting.
Experience with SQL, one or more programming languages (such as Python or Java), and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly beneficial.
Knowledge of data governance, security, and best practices for data quality and performance tuning is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
