Senior Cost Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Analyst to provide financial oversight for complex construction projects in Deerfield Beach, Florida. This role partners closely with project leaders and finance teams to track performance, strengthen cost visibility, and support informed business decisions throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong construction accounting knowledge, sound analytical judgment, and hands-on experience with project-based financial reporting and billing processes.

Responsibilities:

• • Review project financial activity to measure cost performance, identify exceptions, and highlight trends that could affect profitability.
• • Produce and maintain monthly work-in-progress reporting by coordinating updates with operations and accounting stakeholders.
• • Build and refine project budgets and forecasts, giving teams timely insight into expected costs and financial outcomes.
• • Prepare construction draw packages and customer invoices in accordance with contract requirements and billing schedules.
• • Administer change order financial tracking, including impact analysis and integration into ongoing cost projections.
• • Act as a key financial contact for project teams, internal leadership, and clients by delivering accurate and timely project reporting.
• • Use construction accounting systems such as Sage Intacct or similar platforms to maintain reliable financial records and improve reporting accuracy.
• • Support stronger financial controls by identifying process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and data integrity.
• • Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger review related to project accounting.
• • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• • At least 7 years of experience in construction accounting, job cost analysis, or project-based financial management.
• • Proficiency with construction accounting software such as Sage 300, Sage Intacct, SAP, or comparable platforms.
• • Demonstrated knowledge of work-in-progress reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and construction cost tracking.
• • Experience with AIA billing, construction draws, and contract-based invoicing practices.
• • Strong command of account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
• • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze detailed financial data with a high level of accuracy.
• • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across accounting and project teams.
