We are looking for a Sr. Business Analyst with deep expertise in benefits administration to join a fantastic team. This is a full-time, fully remote position based in the United States, preferably within the East Coast Time Zone (or willing to work consistently via the East Coast time zone). The compensation is up to $130k base, plus benefits. Possibly more for those possessing the appropriate skills/experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- - Lead requirements definition and drive EDI & carrier integration workstreams.
- - Serve as the primary bridge between US-based stakeholders and the engineering team, translating compliance obligations, carrier behaviors, and client needs into clear, actionable specifications.
- - Translate business needs and compliance requirements into well-structured user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- - Conduct ecosystem mapping and gap analysis sessions with internal stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and define future-state workflows and integrations.
- - Act as the subject matter expert for 834 enrollment/eligibility file transactions, including mapping, testing, error resolution, and trading partner management.
- - Support carrier connectivity projects from requirements through UAT, ensuring file accuracy and compliance with ANSI X12 standards.
- - Identify and document integration gaps between client HRIS/payroll systems and the organization’s platforms.
- - Mentor and collaborate with other international BA team members, providing domain guidance and establishing consistent standards for agile requirements documentation.
- - Coordinate daily/near-daily overlap with the international team to maintain continuity across time zones.
- - Collaborate directly with product and engineering leads on roadmap prioritization.
Requirements:
- - 3+ years of business analysis experience in benefits administration, health insurance, or a TPA/carrier environment.
- - Hands-on expertise with EDI 834 enrollment/eligibility transactions, including mapping files, resolving rejects, and managing trading partners.
- - Working knowledge of COBRA administration, including qualifying events, election timelines, premium calculations, and compliance obligations.
- - Experience with group billing, carrier reconciliation, or enrollment/eligibility platforms in a regulated environment.
- - Proficiency in writing clear, developer-ready user stories and functional requirements with minimal ambiguity.
- - HIPAA awareness
