We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support the State of Indiana – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Digital Transformation Team.
This role requires a strong Business Systems Analyst who can translate complex business and technology needs into clear, actionable business requirements and user stories while serving as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT, data, project management, QA, and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and provide technology/data-driven solutions.
Serve as a business relationship manager for assigned functional areas.
Partner with IT, data, project management, QA, and business teams to develop high-quality requirements.
Translate complex technical and data concepts into clear business language and communicate business objectives to technical teams.
Lead business analysis and process improvement initiatives to identify root causes and improve organizational efficiency.
Support integration and interoperability efforts across systems, data, and business processes.
Create detailed business requirements, functional requirements, and user stories.
Ensure requirements are complete, precise, and aligned with testing and solution needs.
Support enterprise-level integration planning and digital transformation initiatives.
Manage expectations across business users, technical teams, vendors, and leadership.
Follow and promote established governance and business analysis practices.
Required Skills:
Experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Consultant, or similar technology-focused role.
Strong business analysis and problem-solving experience in project/consultative environments.
Strong stakeholder and business relationship management skills.
Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong experience creating and documenting business requirements and user stories.
Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience working with Azure DevOps.
Experience working with the Salesforce platform, including supporting business processes and eliciting/documenting requirements.
Experience collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders within a Salesforce environment.
Preferred:
Salesforce Certified Business Analyst certification.
Experience supporting government or large enterprise environments.
Experience with digital transformation initiatives.
Experience with enterprise systems integration and data-driven solutions.
Experience with business process improvement and organizational change.
