  • About the Opportunity
  • The Senior Associate I, Portfolio Analytics plays a critical role in managing and transforming investment data to support portfolio analytics across core and alternative assets. This position ensures the accuracy and usability of data within quantitative models and reporting systems, directly contributing to the organization's ability to measure and communicate investment performance and strategy.
  • Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline & Analytics Modeling
  • Data Transformation: Capture, extract, and transform financial data from multiple disparate sources into centralized investment data warehouses.
  • Pipeline Engineering: Develop, scale, and maintain automated data pipelines and analytical models tailored to both core and alternative asset classes.
  • Advanced Portfolio Analysis: Support technical performance measurement, institutional benchmarking, investment attribution, and granular look-through analysis.
  • Alternative Asset Support: Design and provide custom analytical data solutions for alternative and non-core investments.
  • Business Intelligence & Reporting
  • Executive Dashboards: Build, curate, and manage highly visual dashboards and performance reports utilized in investment committee and board-level materials.
  • Process Automation: Continuously enhance data platforms and automate recurring operational reporting processes to eliminate manual workflows.
  • Strategic Support: Assist leadership in meeting overarching investment operations, data governance, and compliance reporting objectives.
  • Data Quality & Vendor Collaboration
  • Cross-Team Alignment: Collaborate closely with internal technical teams and external data vendors to enforce strict data quality controls and operational alignment.
  • Requirements
  • Domain & Industry Experience
  • Tenure: 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or quantitative analytics.
  • Sector Background: Direct experience operating within investment management, asset management, or related financial services sectors.
  • Financial Literacy: Strong foundational knowledge of asset management frameworks, risk metrics, and performance attribution methodologies.
  • Alternative Investment Metrics: Familiarity with alternative investment analytics—such as Commitments, Net Asset Value (NAV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Total Value to Paid-In (TVPI), and Distributed to Paid-In (DPI)—is considered a distinct advantage.
  • Technical Stack & Data Engineering
  • Database & ETL Architecture: Strong skills in dimensional and data modeling, advanced SQL scripting, and robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipeline development.
  • Power BI Mastery: High proficiency in Power BI development environments, including hands-on experience with Power Query, Dataflows, complex DAX measures, and enterprise dashboard creation.
  • Visualization & Reporting: Skilled in modern data visualization techniques and advanced Excel functions seamlessly integrated with Power BI ecosystems.
  • Communication & Tooling Pluses
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Project Documentation: Ability to generate clear technical documentation, systematically assess project risks, and coordinate across cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred Languages: Experience developing paginated reports or working with scripting tools and programming languages such as VBA, native SQL, or Python is a plus.
  • Execution Style: Detail-oriented mindset paired with strong written communication and collaborative skills.
