About the Firm:
Our client is a full service residential real estate investment management company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. The primary focus of our management team since the late 1990s has been on the apartment sector, with selective investments in land development transactions. Currently, the group manages and/or has an ownership interest in 7,500 apartment units across the southeast.
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join its investment team. This individual will play an integral role in evaluating and executing multifamily investment opportunities across the Southeast while gaining broad exposure to acquisitions, development partnerships, fund management, investor relations, and portfolio strategy.
The ideal candidate will possess strong financial modeling capabilities, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to build a long-term career within a collaborative, entrepreneurial investment platform. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership in a lean team environment and contribute meaningfully to investment decisions across a growing multifamily platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and evaluate multifamily acquisition, disposition, and development opportunities.
- Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to assess investment returns, capital structures, and risk-adjusted performance.
- Conduct market research and help develop investment theses for target markets throughout the Southeast.
- Analyze demographic, economic, and competitive market trends to support investment decisions.
- Prepare investment memoranda, investment committee presentations, and board-level reporting materials.
- Assist with due diligence efforts, transaction execution, financing activities, and closing processes.
- Support the development of annual property and corporate budgets.
- Prepare investor presentations, quarterly reporting materials, and ad hoc analyses for existing and prospective capital partners.
- Assist with fund management, portfolio analytics, and investor relations initiatives as the platform continues to grow.
- Translate complex analyses into concise, actionable recommendations for senior management and ownership.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative area (e.g. finance or economics)
- 2+ year(s) of relevant real estate finance-related job experience
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with time constraints
- Detail-oriented
- High degree of initiative, ability to learn, understand and identify solutions
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
- Integrity and trustworthiness
