Cultivate Power is seeking a driven and intellectually curious candidate as a Project Finance Sr. Analyst. This person will assist project sale and financing transactions, make investment recommendations based on valuation analysis, and have the opportunity to manage select investment and project finance activities (such as tax equity investments, project debt and tax equity financings, and tax strategies).

This role will accelerate a Sr. Analyst forward in an entrepreneurial career in renewables investing, financing, and development.
- The Sr. Analyst will embody Cultivate’s entrepreneurial spirit. Over time, as the Sr. Analyst learns and grows they will identify and lead new value creation opportunities, which could range from unlocking accretive financing, project acquisition opportunities, new business line opportunities, and more.
- The Sr. Analyst’s core project sales activities will involve assisting community solar project portfolio sales auctions, managing due diligence, and running the sales process from diligence through closing. For project financings, the Sr. Analyst will build relationships with lenders, tax equity investors, attorneys and consultants through management of due diligence, third party reports, and construction phase for community solar portfolios.
The Sr. Analyst will also work closely with other Project Finance team members, as well as Cultivate’s Development Market Leads to analyze valuation scenarios for projects in Cultivate’s markets, informing development investment decisions. The Sr. Analyst will have the ability to model project valuation scenarios independently when needed.
A great candidate is excited to work across multiple finance functions: project sales, project financings, and valuation/investment decisioning. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Sales: assist in the sale of solar and storage projects, including running valuation exercises, collaborating with developers on major project deliverables, cultivating relationships with project buyers, and overseeing project diligence to drive projects to Closing.
- Project Financings: assist in the financing of solar and storage projects, including collaborating with internal stakeholders and EPC on major project deliverables, managing project financial models, overseeing project diligence, coordinating project consultants related to third party reports (Independent Engineer, Insurance Consultant, Market Consultant) to drive projects to Financial Close and Commercial Operations.
- Project Valuation: evaluate project returns across markets and multiple scenarios to inform individual project development decision-making, as well as support and advise the development team in evaluating market entry decisions. Form investment recommendations based on analysis of valuation models, strategic considerations, and risk/return frameworks.

Requirements:
- High intellectual curiosity and strong drive.
- BA/BS degree (MBA or other relevant graduate degrees welcome).
- 1-4 years of finance experience required, with strong preference for experience in the renewable energy industry (investment banking, project finance, or corporate M&A) as a plus.
- Familiarity with tax equity and debt financing structures used in the solar and battery industry.
- Strong credit, financial analysis, quantitative, and modeling skills.
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
- Ability to work well within collaborative and individual contribution roles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal & written) and ability to think on feet to defend positions and decisions.
- Attention to detail & highly organized (including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines).
- Unimpeachable ethics & integrity.
