About The Role

ACPWB is hiring a Senior Analyst, Board Governance to expand our Business Development team's capacity in institutional ownership and governance alignment. This role will be the primary point of accountability for a defined set of research and advisory deliverables, working across internal teams and directly with clients. We expect this person to bring rigor, intellectual honesty, and a working knowledge of Excel that goes beyond SUM().

ACPWB is seeking a Senior Analyst, Board Governance to strengthen our capabilities in institutional ownership and governance alignment at a moment when corporate America is under more scrutiny than ever. You will be embedded in the Business Development team, contributing to research products, advisory engagements, and the kind of proprietary data infrastructure that makes our analysts feel genuinely important at dinner parties. The team currently numbers 22 and is expected to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • ◆ Support clients through proxy season by providing real-time guidance on institutional ownership and governance alignment questions from investors
  • ◆ Participate in cross-practice initiatives to integrate institutional ownership and governance alignment insights into broader advisory offerings
  • ◆ Translate regulatory and legislative developments into client-ready guidance on institutional ownership and governance alignment implications
  • ◆ Maintain accurate project documentation and track deliverable timelines across multiple engagements
  • ◆ Lead or support research engagements focused on institutional ownership and governance alignment, from initial scoping through final delivery
  • ◆ Lead client workshops and working sessions on institutional ownership and governance alignment strategy and implementation
  • ◆ Build and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders at the VP, SVP, and C-suite level

Qualifications

Required

  • ◆ 7+ years of experience in a client-facing advisory role within the professional services sector or broader professional services
  • ◆ 7+ years of experience in compensation consulting, HR advisory, or a related analytical field
  • ◆ Comfort with ambiguity and a proven track record of producing structured, defensible solutions despite it
  • ◆ Strong Excel modeling skills including the ability to build audit-ready analytical models independently
  • ◆ Experience with compensation survey data sources (e.g., Radford, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson, or equivalent)

Preferred

  • ◆ Demonstrated ability to produce publishable-quality research and analysis
  • ◆ Experience working with union or collectively bargained workforce populations
  • ◆ Familiarity with emerging pay transparency legislation across U.S. states and localities
  • ◆ Experience with total rewards communications and employee-facing content

WHY ACPWB

Working at ACPWB means being part of a team that is genuinely expert in its field, relentlessly curious about data, and deeply committed to the principle that transparency produces better outcomes for everyone — except, perhaps, for the organizations that prefer opacity. We have opinions about those organizations. We have published some of those opinions.

ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve. Eighteen years later, that mandate has grown into a full-service research and advisory practice serving clients from early-stage employers to Fortune 50 enterprises — and we are still based in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee is genuinely underrated.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

We interview thoroughly and move quickly. Candidates who complete our process receive a decision within one week of the final interview. We make competitive offers and do not negotiate against candidates who have honestly shared their expectations. We are a compensation firm. We are aware of the irony of behaving otherwise.

What Success Looks Like In Year One

  • ◆ Informally onboard a newer team member and help them access institutional knowledge
  • ◆ Become the team's internal reference point for at least one specific technical domain or methodology area
  • ◆ Establish a regular cadence with your manager for feedback, development planning, and career discussion
