Senior Accounting Analyst
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical finance professional to join their team as a Senior Accounting Analyst. This role offers a diverse mix of accounting operations, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting support, and process improvement within a growing and collaborative environment.
Reporting to the finance leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the organization's financial integrity while providing valuable insights to support business decisions and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Operations & Accounting Support
- Support the day-to-day financial activities of the organization by ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain the integrity of financial records through regular review, reconciliation, and analysis of accounting data.
- Manage account balances and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Prepare supporting documentation and schedules required for internal controls, audits, and reporting activities.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective accounting practices that support operational excellence.
- Financial Reporting & Month-End Activities
- Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports and working papers for management review.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes through account analysis and reconciliations.
- Analyze financial information to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain supporting records and schedules to ensure compliance with organizational and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the accuracy and completeness of financial data used for internal and external reporting.
- Planning, Analysis & Decision Support
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Monitor financial performance against established targets and provide insights into key variances.
- Prepare analyses that support business initiatives, resource planning, and strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reporting tools that enhance visibility into operational and financial performance.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to help improve effectiveness, efficiency, and overall business results.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls, and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
- Support system enhancements, implementations, and process optimization initiatives.
- Leverage technology and reporting tools to improve data accuracy and workflow efficiency.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at strengthening organizational performance and scalability.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with leaders and internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support informed decision-making.
- Foster productive working relationships across departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Serve as a reliable resource for financial information, reporting requirements, and process guidance.
- Support organizational objectives through a customer-service-oriented approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a multi-faceted business environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting best practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with integrated accounting or ERP systems.
- Proven ability to analyze large volumes of financial information and distill findings into meaningful business insights.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at various levels of an organization.
- Professional, discreet, and capable of handling confidential information with sound judgment.
- Demonstrated initiative in identifying process improvements and contributing to operational efficiencies.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
