Sap Finance Control Business Analyst

iT2 is supporting a manufacturing/distribution client seeking a senior finance-side SAP consultant to augment its team during an ECC-to-S/4HANA upgrade. This will be a long-term 1 year+ contract working 4 days on-site and one remote in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area.

• This consultant will work closely with Finance leadership and report to the Controller, representing the business and validating the IT S/4HANA on-prem journey for the business FICO workflows to ensure the finance and accounting organization processes and configuration decisions are aligned for a successful transition using "Business Areas"
• Qualified candidate will bring a strong accounting background, with a deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA finance workflows using "Business Area" accounting in similar upgrade programs within manufacturing/distribution environments.

• Qualified candidates must reside in Dallas metro area for onsite work
• S/4HANA on-prem Financial transformation experience
• Accounting degree and strong FICO Business side experience
• CPA+
• Strong relationship building between Business and Technical organizations
• Excellent communication skills to represent the business and interface with the technical organization to validate their workflow processes stay the same during the S/4 transformation using "business areas"

• Key Responsibilities
• Partner with Finance leadership, the Controller, and cross-functional stakeholders to support the finance workstream during the SAP S/4HANA upgrade.
• Provide business-side guidance on core finance process areas, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, and costing.
• Help the organization prepare for the implementation partner by identifying finance process gaps, configuration considerations, and legacy workarounds that should be addressed in S/4HANA.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the client team by validating that solution decisions meet accounting and business requirements.
• Support business analysis, requirements clarification, and readiness planning across the finance transformation effort.
• Collaborate closely with client stakeholders in an on-site environment to build relationships, improve alignment, and accelerate decision-making.
• Bring practical perspective from prior SAP S/4HANA upgrade programs, particularly in manufacturing and distribution settings.
• Required Experience
• Strong accounting background with the ability to engage credibly with Finance and Controller leadership.
• Deep SAP consulting experience, with strong SAP S/4HANA finance knowledge.
• Prior experience serving in a similar role on an SAP S/4HANA upgrade or transformation initiative.
• Experience supporting manufacturing and distribution clients.
• Strong business analysis skills with the ability to bridge business process needs and SAP solution design.
• Ability to identify finance process risks, configuration impacts, and readiness considerations ahead of implementation.
• Preferred Qualifications
• CPA or similar accounting credential is a plus, but not required.
• Broader project leadership capability is helpful, though this is not a dedicated project manager role.

Rate in Texas is based on experience and depends on C2C or W2 pay status.
