About The Role
Verisk's Catastrophe and Risk Solutions (CRS) team is seeking a dedicated Risk Consultant or Risk Analyst to join their Consulting and Client Service Team based in Boston, MA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of data analysis, risk modeling, and client engagement. As part of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients by providing expert advice, interpreting complex data, and delivering tailored risk assessment solutions. Your work will directly contribute to helping clients understand and manage their catastrophe risks effectively, utilizing Verisk's advanced software platforms such as Touchstone, TouchstoneRe, and Synergy Studio.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree with coursework in quantitative disciplines such as mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, business, or computer science.
- Two or more years of experience in catastrophe modeling, actuarial support, or related fields is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of Power Query or Power BI is a plus.
- Experience with SQL Server Management Studio or other database management/querying tools is advantageous.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk analyses to support consulting projects and internal initiatives, utilizing Verisk's software tools.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely resolutions.
- Engage directly with clients to develop project timelines, set expectations, and deliver high-quality results.
- Apply project management best practices to mid- to large-scale consulting studies, ensuring efficient workflow and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Assist in model and product change management processes, supporting the integration of new features and updates.
- Provide valuable feedback to internal teams regarding product evolution based on client input and personal experience with Verisk's solutions.
- Act as a liaison across the CRS vertical and other internal groups, facilitating communication, sharing insights, and aligning efforts to meet client needs and organizational goals.
- Stay engaged with ongoing product development, contributing to feature design, testing, and release phases to enhance client satisfaction.
- Support internal initiatives aimed at improving risk modeling methodologies and software capabilities.
