- Role Description The Research Analyst role at WhiteRock is a full-time hybrid position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with a mix of in-office and work-from-home flexibility. The Research Analyst will conduct market and industry research across private capital markets and commercial real estate, including gathering, cleaning, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing analytical reports, dashboards, and briefing materials for internal stakeholders and clients, supporting deal evaluation and portfolio strategy through data-driven insights. The role involves monitoring trends in private equity, M&A, recapitalizations, and institutional capital movements, as well as contributing to property and market assessments for commercial real estate transactions. The Research Analyst will collaborate closely with advisory and brokerage teams, communicate findings clearly, and help refine WhiteRock’s capital intelligence platform.
- Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Statistics for interpreting complex financial, market, and real estate data.
- Demonstrated experience in Market Research and Research, including data collection, validation, and synthesis from multiple sources.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly in written reports, presentations, and discussions.
- Advanced skills in spreadsheets and data tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL or similar) and comfort working with large datasets.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business, real estate, data science, or a related field; graduate studies are an asset.
- Familiarity with private equity, M&A, or commercial real estate markets, preferably within Canada, is highly beneficial.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, growing advisory environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, collaborating with colleagues in person and remotely, with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
