Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Renewable Energy Analyst to support a prestigious client in the renewable energy industry. This position offers the opportunity to help develop solar and energy storage projects from initial lead through contract execution for large-scale customers. The Renewable Energy Analyst will play a key role in evaluating project feasibility, conducting financial analysis, researching incentives, and supporting commercial development efforts. This role, which involves working alongside experienced professionals in project finance, engineering, construction, and operations, provides a strong foundation for long-term growth in renewable energy project development.
Responsibilities
- Develop solar and energy storage opportunities from lead stage through booking and contract execution.
- Analyze customer objectives, site conditions, and utility data to evaluate project feasibility.
- Utilize solar design software to optimize system sizing, equipment selection, and project design.
- Research incentives, tax programs, utility tariffs, energy policies, permitting requirements, and construction codes.
- Build and maintain financial models for cash sale, lease, and power purchase agreement structures.
- Support commercial deal structuring to maximize customer value and project economics.
- Perform value engineering and cost optimization analysis for customer proposals.
- Conduct data analysis to support development and commercial decision-making.
- Collaborate with business development, engineering, finance, construction, and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with customer proposals, presentations, and project documentation.
- Support process improvement initiatives, templates, and tools used by the commercial team.
- Participate in post-award project development and contract execution activities.
- Manage multiple active opportunities while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
- Travel occasionally to project sites and company offices as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
- 1–4 years of experience in renewable energy, project development, project finance, energy consulting, sustainability, utilities, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
- Experience evaluating solar and energy storage projects.
- Knowledge of utility data analysis, energy incentives, and renewable energy policy.
- Experience supporting feasibility studies, project development, or commercial proposal activities.
- Familiarity with power purchase agreements, leases, cash sale structures, or project finance concepts.
- Experience with solar design software such as Helioscope, Aurora, PVsyst, PVSim, or Energy Toolbase.
- Strong data analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Experience coordinating projects across multiple stakeholders and business functions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel as required.
