About The Role

We are seeking a Data Analyst II to join our analytics team. This role is pivotal in owning recurring reports and conducting ad hoc analyses within a designated domain or program. The ideal candidate will develop an in-depth understanding of the specific program’s enrollment processes, payer nuances, fulfillment workflows, and data sources. As a key contributor to our Data & Analytics department, you will support organizational decision-making by providing accurate, timely, and insightful data analysis. Reporting directly to the Manager of Analytics & Reporting, this position emphasizes depth of knowledge in a particular area over breadth across multiple domains, especially during the initial phases of employment. This role does not include direct reports but offers significant influence through data-driven insights that impact operational and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that align with our needs. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory; demonstrated capability and practical experience are equally valued. Candidates should typically have 2 to 4 years of experience in data analysis, with proficiency in SQL as the primary tool for data manipulation. Knowledge of data validation techniques, dashboard creation, and familiarity with BI platforms such as Looker and Metabase is essential. Experience working with healthcare or pharmacy data, including claims, payer information, or prior authorization processes, is advantageous. Additional skills include the ability to translate vague questions into precise analyses, validate results through cross-verification, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. Familiarity with data privacy standards, particularly HIPAA, is critical to ensure responsible handling of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include owning and managing one manufacturer program or internal domain, gaining a comprehensive understanding of its enrollment funnel, payer intricacies, and fulfillment pathways. You will develop and maintain recurring reports, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and insightful. This involves reviewing weekly and monthly reports, supporting daily data feeds, and investigating any anomalies or unexplained changes before dissemination. You will answer complex questions related to claim adjudication, prescription status, and fulfillment records by tracing data through various systems, providing confident and well-documented responses.

Building dashboards in Looker will be a core activity, including client-facing reports that are still in development. You will raise dbt model requests for logic that belongs in the data warehouse, ensuring efficient data transformation and consistency. Handling protected health information (PHI) with care and in compliance with privacy standards is a daily priority. This includes understanding your access levels, minimizing data exposure, and seeking approval before transferring patient-level data to new locations. Additionally, you will document metric definitions and maintain clear records to facilitate consistency and knowledge transfer among team members. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including operations and account managers, is essential to understand the broader context of your analyses and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
