  • Our client, an expanding investment management firm is looking for a Quantitative Risk Analyst to be part of the Risk team working across Investments, Treasury Operations, and Legal to assess and manage risks.
  • Role Description The Quantitative Risk Analyst role is a full-time, hybrid position based in New York, NY, with flexibility for some work from home. This role involves identifying, measuring, and monitoring market and financial risks across portfolios, products, or business lines. The analyst will develop and maintain quantitative models, perform statistical analysis, and prepare clear risk reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and validating data, conducting scenario and stress testing, supporting risk limit frameworks, and collaborating with finance, trading, and compliance teams to inform risk mitigation strategies. The individual will also contribute to refining risk methodologies, documenting model assumptions, and staying up to date with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
  • Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional experience ideally at a management consulting firm with a focus on financial services
  • Market Risk knowledge and practical experience assessing market exposures and sensitivities.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills and Quantitative Analytics capabilities for building, validating, and improving risk models.
  • Solid Finance foundation, including understanding of financial instruments, portfolios, and risk-return concepts.
  • Applied Statistics expertise, including regression, time series analysis, probability distributions, and statistical testing.
  • Proficiency in quantitative tools (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, or similar), and experience working with large datasets.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (masters preferred) in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or Data Science.
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks, regulatory considerations, and industry best practices is beneficial.
