Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Analyst I to support laboratory testing and quality activities within a regulated manufacturing and laboratory environment. This role is responsible for performing analytical testing, documenting results, maintaining compliance with quality standards, and supporting day-to-day laboratory operations.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and data integrity. Entry-level candidates with relevant scientific education are encouraged to apply, and prior laboratory experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Perform analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, intermediates, in-process samples, environmental samples, water samples, and other materials in accordance with approved laboratory methods and procedures.
Accurately document testing activities, observations, and results in laboratory records and electronic systems.
Enter and maintain test data within Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other quality management tools.
Review test results for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with documentation requirements.
Communicate unusual, unexpected, or out-of-specification results to laboratory leadership in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate, complete, legible, and contemporaneous records of all work performed.
Adhere to established testing schedules and meet assigned deadlines.
Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and departmental policies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment.
Collaborate with team members to support laboratory workflows and operational goals.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Perform additional laboratory responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
Associate degree in a relevant scientific field plus two years of laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Basic understanding of laboratory practices, scientific testing methods, and quality systems.
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn laboratory software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous laboratory experience through academic research, internships, coursework, or industry settings.
Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Familiarity with regulated laboratory environments and quality systems.
Exposure to cGMP regulations and quality-control testing practices.
Experience reviewing and documenting laboratory data and test results.
