Job Title: QA/QC Program Engineer VJob Description
The QA/QC Program Engineer V leads quality assurance and quality control programs for complex data center and mission-critical construction projects. This role develops and monitors quality metrics, drives continuous improvement across design and construction activities, and ensures that all mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing systems meet stringent quality standards. The engineer serves as a key interface between design, construction, safety, and facility operations teams, providing technical oversight, training, and coordination to deliver highly reliable infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor comprehensive quality program metrics to evaluate project performance and identify trends in quality outcomes.
- Analyze quality metrics to determine root causes of adverse trends and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
- Assist in building and supporting the on-site construction QA and QC team, providing guidance and structure to their activities.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of QA/QC processes and standards to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cross-functional communication.
- Serve as an interface between design, construction, safety, facility operations, and general contractors to align quality expectations and resolve issues.
- Provide training to project personnel on quality awareness, procedures, and their specific responsibilities within the QA/QC process.
- Coordinate quality-related issues across design, construction, and facility operations teams to ensure consistent standards and timely resolution.
- Audit QA/QC activities performed by staff and subcontractors to assess conformance with established QA/QC procedures and requirements.
- Review all submittals, particularly mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing (MECP) submittals, to ensure compliance with established QC standards and project requirements.
- Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation to verify compliance with stated requirements, vendor quality manuals, and company quality records.
- Develop, review, and approve quality documentation, including construction quality procedures, testing matrices, checklists, technical deliverables, and test procedures and plans.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions for project non-conformances and quality issues, and verify effective implementation in coordination with project and quality management, design, engineering, and construction teams.
- Review commissioning agent level four and five commissioning scripts and support the construction manager in reviewing turnover documentation packages for completeness.
- Assist the construction manager in reviewing level three, four, and five energization, start-up, and commissioning schedules, and help ensure adherence to these schedules.
- Drive closure of open issues in project tracking systems and escalate outstanding items that are not being resolved in a timely manner.
- Attend factory witness tests for owner-furnished contractor-installed (OFCI) and contractor-furnished contractor-installed (CFCI) equipment and systems, providing quality oversight as needed.
- Conduct onsite visual inspections and observations to verify construction quality control for OFCI and CFCI equipment and systems.
- Assist in confirming that level two and level three testing documentation is properly completed, organized, and retained.
- Provide support in reviewing installed labeling, signage, and tagging to ensure accuracy and consistency with project standards.
- Assist in developing project-specific QA/QC dashboards, equipment tracking matrices, and semi-annual QA/QC deep-dive presentations.
- Participate in required construction meetings, including weekly project meetings, monthly global QA/QC meetings, MEP/owner-architect-contractor (OAC) weekly meetings, and daily start-up and commissioning meetings.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) programs for data centers or mission-critical construction projects.
- Proven experience working within Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build construction programs.
- Hands-on experience across civil and structural disciplines, including building envelope, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and controls (I&C).
- Demonstrated experience leading QA/QC and commissioning (Cx) programs for complex construction projects.
- Experience managing contractors, consultants, and vendors within a construction or mission-critical environment.
- Experience with mission-critical power and cooling infrastructure or other critical systems, with the ability to apply this expertise to data center challenges.
- Background in construction management and construction quality management in large-scale projects.
- Experience in project management and project coordination within a construction or engineering environment.

- Ability to participate in and contribute to technical meetings, commissioning reviews, and factory witness tests.
Work Environment
This role operates within large-scale data center and mission-critical construction environments that involve complex mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing systems. The QA/QC Program Engineer V works closely with cross-functional teams, including design, construction, safety, facility operations, and general contractors, and regularly participates in onsite inspections, commissioning activities, and factory witness tests. The position involves attending weekly project meetings, monthly global QA/QC meetings, MEP/OAC coordination sessions, and daily start-up and commissioning meetings. Work is primarily performed on active construction sites and in office settings where quality documentation, testing matrices, dashboards, and equipment tracking tools are used to manage and monitor project performance.

This is a Contract position based out of Montgomery, AL.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95.00 - $102.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
