About The Role
The QA Analyst within the Quality Assurance Department plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of Magic the Gathering Online. This full-time position involves designing and executing comprehensive test plans for upcoming card content and feature releases, collaborating closely with developers and fellow analysts to ensure thorough testing coverage across multiple environments. The QA Analyst is responsible for verifying changes, identifying edge cases outside of expected functionality, and providing qualitative feedback to advocate for an optimal player experience. This role requires proactive task prioritization, adherence to modern QA methodologies, and excellent communication skills. A passion for gaming and a solid understanding of Magic the Gathering rules and gameplay are essential to succeed in this position. The successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of the game, ensuring it is polished, balanced, and ready for players worldwide.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in quality assurance, preferably within the gaming industry
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong understanding of Magic the Gathering rules and gameplay
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of the software development process
- Experience with video games on PC is preferred
- Passion for games and quality assurance
Responsibilities
- Create detailed test plans for upcoming card content and feature releases
- Execute test cases and verify changes across multiple testing environments
- Collaborate with developers and fellow QA analysts to ensure comprehensive testing coverage
- Identify, document, and communicate bugs and issues effectively
- Test for edge cases outside of expected functionality to ensure robustness
- Provide qualitative feedback to enhance the player experience
- Prioritize testing tasks based on project deadlines and importance
- Advocate for quality standards and best practices within the team
- Maintain thorough documentation of testing activities and results
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous process improvements
