Title: QA Analyst
Location: Menlo Park, California
Work Arrangement: Hybrid 3 days in office
Contract Duration: 9 months with possibility for extension
Pay Rate: $64-67 per hour
Role Summary
As a QA Contractor, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality by executing and improving test processes, collaborating closely with engineering and QA leadership, and supporting the delivery of high-quality features. This role is ideal for a highly technical QA professional who can operate independently, contribute to test strategy, and own complex testing efforts end-to-end.
Must-Have Qualifications (Top Priorities)
- Strong test automation + coding skills
- Hands-on automation experience (not just manual QA)
- Ability to read, review, and understand code to support complex testing scenarios
- Benchmarking / performance testing experience
- Proven ability to define, measure, and analyze performance metrics
- Ability to independently identify regressions and quality gaps
- Experience using AI tools/agents in QA workflows
- Applying AI for debugging, test generation, or triaging issues
- Leveraging AI to improve QA efficiency and accelerate testing cycles
- Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience testing social networking / consumer apps
- Familiarity with features like feeds, content creation, and user interactions
- Experience working with offshore or distributed teams
- Comfortable collaborating across time zones (e.g., India, Mexico)
- Flexible with working hours when needed for cross-regional coordination
- Key Responsibilities
- Execute and maintain manual and automated test cases for new and existing features
- Reproduce, document, and triage bugs; partner with engineering to drive resolution
- Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive test cases and test plans
- Support QA leads in defining test strategies and building test plans
- Create and maintain dashboards to track quality metrics and testing progress
- Conduct product and bug audits to identify coverage gaps and improvement areas
- Support release readiness for small to medium-sized features
- Lead test execution for small to mid-sized projects or feature areas
- Represent QA in status meetings when needed
- Collaborate onsite with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and rigor
- Support high-priority or stealth projects requiring strong attention to detail
- Lead and execute specialized testing (benchmarking, performance, battery testing)
Additional Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or a related field
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Proven experience writing and executing test cases and test plans
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with dashboards and quality metrics tracking is a plus
- Comfortable working onsite and engaging directly with engineering teams
- Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, and SQL
