About The Role

CEI is seeking a highly skilled Data Tosca QA Analyst to join our expanding team supporting one of our largest Healthcare / Dental Insurance clients. This fully remote position is integral to our CMS-focused Data Space initiative, which involves supporting enterprise data platforms within a healthcare environment. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data across complex systems through structured testing and validation processes. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with QA analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to support large-scale data integration, migration, and reporting efforts. The role involves designing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual testing processes to validate data pipelines and enterprise data systems, contributing to data quality and compliance initiatives. This position requires strong collaboration skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of data validation techniques to support critical reporting and analytics functions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. They should have between 3 to 5 years of QA/testing experience, with at least 2 years specifically working with Tricentis Tosca. Proven experience in data testing, ETL validation, or data warehouse testing is essential, along with hands-on experience testing data integration projects. Proficiency in Tosca Commander, Tosca Executor, and test case design is required. Candidates should have experience working with Tosca modules including TBox, XScan, API testing, and database testing. Strong SQL skills are necessary, with the ability to write complex queries involving joins, aggregations, CTEs, and stored procedures. Familiarity with database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, PostgreSQL, or MySQL is preferred. A solid understanding of ETL concepts, data warehouse architectures, data profiling, and data comparison techniques is also important. Knowledge of version control systems like Git or SVN, QA methodologies, SDLC, and experience with test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM are required. Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments, API testing (REST and SOAP), and CI/CD pipelines will be advantageous. Preferred but not mandatory skills include Tosca certifications, experience with Tosca Data Integrity (TDI), ETL tools like Informatica or SSIS, cloud data platforms, scripting languages, Big Data technologies, and industry-specific experience.

Responsibilities

The Data Tosca QA Analyst will be responsible for designing and developing automated test cases using Tricentis Tosca to validate data pipelines and ETL workflows, ensuring comprehensive coverage across various testing scenarios including integration, regression, and smoke testing. They will build and maintain reusable test components, modules, and libraries within the Tosca framework to support scalable testing efforts. Executing both automated and manual test scenarios to verify data accuracy across source and target systems will be a core function, including validation of data transformations and business rules. The role involves writing and executing complex SQL queries to verify data completeness, consistency, and integrity across multiple databases and environments.

The analyst will perform detailed validation of ETL processes, including testing aggregations, joins, and transformations within enterprise data workflows. Validating data loads into data warehouses, data lakes, and reporting systems to ensure alignment with business requirements is essential. Conducting data reconciliation activities across systems to identify discrepancies and ensure data consistency forms a key part of the role. Supporting data migration testing to prevent data loss and confirm accuracy of migrated datasets is also expected.

Collaboration with business analysts and data engineers is vital for understanding data requirements, defining test scenarios, and ensuring proper test coverage. The analyst will participate in requirement reviews, providing feedback on data dependencies and potential risks. Developing and maintaining detailed test plans, strategies, and schedules aligned with project timelines is required. Logging, tracking, and managing defects using tools like JIRA or HP ALM, including providing detailed documentation with reproduction steps and SQL validation evidence, will be part of daily responsibilities. The role includes participating in defect triage sessions, working with development teams to identify root causes, and validating fixes. Generating test reports, dashboards, and metrics to communicate testing progress and data quality outcomes to stakeholders is essential. Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), maintaining version control of test assets, and integrating testing processes into CI/CD pipelines are also key responsibilities.

Benefits

CEI offers competitive compensation ranging from $45 to $55+ per hour, with benefits that include medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) match (optional).
