We are seeking a Data Product Manager to join the Data Products & Business Intelligence team of a leading media and entertainment organization, supporting the execution of a major data modernization strategy. In this highly cross-functional, hands-on role, you will help deliver scalable, trusted, and AI-ready data products that power analytics, executive reporting, and business decision-making across a portfolio of well-known digital brands. You will translate strategic initiatives into clear execution plans, manage Jira backlogs, conduct SQL-based validation and troubleshooting, and partner closely with Data Engineering, BI Engineering, Analytics, Product, and business teams to drive delivery with the right quality, functionality, and business impact.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in data product management, analytics product ownership, business intelligence, technical program management, or a closely related role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional data or analytics initiatives from requirements through delivery.
  • Strong ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured requirements, execution plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Working proficiency in SQL for data validation, troubleshooting, metric analysis, and business logic assessment.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly summarize risks, status, decisions, and next steps for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially when reviewing requirements, data outputs, and delivery readiness.
  • Experience with modern data and analytics platforms such as Databricks, Redshift, Tableau, Looker, or cloud data warehouses is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data product concepts such as Bronze/Silver/Gold architecture, KPI governance, data quality frameworks, and metric standardization is a plus.
  • Background in media, entertainment, streaming, ticketing, or digital product analytics is a plus.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled insight products, self-service analytics, or executive reporting tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with governance, privacy, and compliance considerations in data product delivery is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive execution of data modernization initiatives across key business domains including ticketing, streaming/AVOD, customer engagement, and performance analytics.
  • Partner with leadership to translate modernization strategy into actionable product roadmaps, milestones, and delivery plans.
  • Support the development of trusted, reusable data products such as curated data models, Silver/Gold tables, KPI layers, semantic definitions, analytics-ready datasets, and executive-facing reporting products.
  • Translate business and analytics needs into clear product requirements, user stories, Jira tickets, acceptance criteria, and expected outcomes.
  • Review and validate Jira ticket outcomes to confirm that delivered work satisfies business intent, reporting requirements, and data quality expectations.
  • Maintain visibility into workstreams, dependencies, open decisions, risks, and blockers across multiple concurrent initiatives; help prioritize work based on business value and delivery dependencies.
  • Use SQL and analytical problem-solving to validate datasets, assess metric logic, investigate data issues, and support reconciliation across source systems and reporting outputs.
  • Define and support validation processes for new tables, transformations, KPIs, and reporting outputs before production release.
  • Serve as a key connector across Data Engineering, BI Engineering, Analytics, Product, Finance, Ad Sales, and Marketing — facilitating alignment on requirements, use cases, definitions, and delivery timing.
  • Identify delivery risks early and escalate proactively with clear context, recommended paths forward, and tradeoff considerations.
  • Partner with governance stakeholders to promote strong practices around data quality, metric consistency, documentation, lineage, and trusted reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve how business users access and interpret data; help ensure curated datasets support trusted, business-friendly AI experiences.
  • What’s in it for you?
  • High-impact role at the center of a major data modernization effort for a leading media and entertainment organization with a portfolio of well-known digital brands.
  • Opportunity to shape the data product strategy that powers analytics and executive decision-making across ticketing, streaming, and digital platforms.
  • Highly cross-functional role with broad exposure across Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, Product, Finance, and business leadership.
  • Collaborative, fast-paced hybrid environment in Los Angeles that values execution discipline, proactive communication, and real business impact.
