Principal Consulting Solutions - Data & AI Governance

• Executive Summary
• The Data & AI Governance role is the firm’s senior leader responsible for helping clients establish trust, control, and accountability across their data and AI ecosystems. This role leads governance strategy, tooling selection, and operating model design while positioning governance as a business enabler rather than a compliance barrier. Leveraging platforms such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Alation, and Atlan, this leader guides clients through the implementation and adoption of data and AI governance capabilities, supports complex consulting engagements, mentors senior governance talent, and advances KCS thought leadership in data management, risk, and responsible AI.

Required Technical & Consulting Skills

• Pre‑Sales Advisory & Governance Strategy Leadership
• Serve as the firm’s senior authority on Data & AI governance strategy and execution
• Lead pre‑sales advisory efforts focused on governance operating models, maturity assessments, and tooling strategy
• Partner with Sales and Practice Leaders to position governance as foundational to analytics and AI success
• Develop client‑facing materials including governance roadmaps, SOWs, pricing models, operating models, and case studies

• Data, Analytics & AI Governance Architecture
• Deep expertise designing governance frameworks across data, analytics, and AI lifecycles
• Hands‑on experience with governance platforms such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Alation, and Atlan
• Ability to integrate governance tooling with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric)
• Strong understanding of metadata management, lineage, data quality, access controls, and policy enforcement

• Operating Models, Policy & Controls
• Experience defining enterprise governance operating models, including federated and domain‑aligned approaches
• Ability to translate regulatory, risk, and compliance needs into actionable governance controls
• Design policies and processes covering data ownership, stewardship, classification, quality, and responsible AI

• Delivery Oversight & Governance Enablement
• Provide post‑sale collaboration with delivery teams to ensure governance solutions are implemented and adopted
• Guide engagement setup, execution, and change management activities
• Serve as a senior escalation point for governance challenges impacting data and AI initiatives
• Track adoption, compliance, and maturity metrics and participate in client QBRs

• Practice Leadership & Governance Playbooks
• Develop and maintain Data & AI Governance playbooks, accelerators, and delivery standards
• Define reusable frameworks, assessment models, and implementation approaches
• Monitor governance practice metrics and communicate outcomes to stakeholders

• Talent Development & Advisory Leadership
• Mentor and coach senior consultants focused on governance, data management, and AI risk
• Support role definition, candidate screening, and hiring decisions
• Promote advisory credibility alongside technical depth

• Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement
• Maintain awareness of evolving data regulations, AI governance trends, and industry standards
• Partner on governance‑focused thought leadership, case studies, and events
• Design and deliver governance demos, assessments, and maturity models

• Education, Experience & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
• Professional services experience required
• Proven leadership in data, analytics, or AI governance initiatives
• Relevant governance or platform certifications preferred

• Travel
• U.S.‑based travel up to 10%
