Primary Research Analyst (TMT) - Growing Multi‑Manager Platform

We are partnered with a rapidly expanding global multi‑manager hedge fund platform that is building out a new fundamental primary‑research function. This is a rare opportunity to join an elite buy‑side environment at an early stage and help shape a high‑impact research capability that will directly support portfolio decision‑making.

The Role

We are looking for a Primary Research Analyst with 2-6 years of experience conducting deep, bottoms‑up fundamental research, ideally at a hedge fund or other buy‑side platform. The role centers on speaking directly with industry operators, gathering real‑time qualitative insights, and converting those insights into actionable takeaways for investment teams. Coverage will be focused on TMT, though strong generalists will also be considered.

What You'll Do

• Conduct primary field research, including expert conversations with private company executives, customers, suppliers, and industry operators
• Develop subject‑matter expertise across TMT sectors (software, semis, internet, hardware, payments, tech services, etc.)
• Synthesize qualitative intelligence into clear, decision‑ready memos for PMs and analysts
• Work collaboratively with investment teams to inform thesis development and industry frameworks
• Help build the research function from the ground up, including processes, coverage models, and best practices

What We're Looking For

• 2-6 years of primary research experience, ideally on the buy‑side
• Strong depth in TMT; generalist experience also welcome
• Strong communication and interviewing skills
• Curiosity, initiative, and comfort working in a fast, PM‑driven environment
• A passion for qualitative research and understanding industry dynamics
