- Power BI Developer (W2 Only) — Hybrid | Austin, TX

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer with deep experience in report development, dashboard design, and dimensional modeling for a hybrid engagement with our client in Austin, Texas. This is a W2-only opportunity (no Corp-to-Corp or sponsorship).
In this role, you will build end-to-end Power BI solutions—developing complex dimensional models and delivering polished, high-performing dashboards and reports that translate data into clear, actionable insights. You will collaborate cross-functionally to define requirements, improve data availability and quality, and deliver scalable visualization solutions used across the organization.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on Power BI experience, can work independently on complex initiatives with minimal oversight, and brings strong judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills. You may also lead small projects or provide guidance to other team members as needed.
- Key Responsibilities
- • Design and build dimensional data models (e.g., star schema) to support enterprise reporting and analytics
- • Develop and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports with strong performance and usability
- • Create compelling data stories using visualization best practices and thoughtful report layout
- • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver iterative reporting solutions
- • Work with data and engineering teams to support/report on data sourced via ETL/ELT pipelines
- • Write and troubleshoot SQL (queries, views, stored procedures) to support reporting needs
- • Contribute to solution design, documentation, and delivery within an SDLC framework
- • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining high quality in a dynamic environment
- Required Skills & Experience
- • 5+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience
- • Expertise in Power BI report development, dashboard design, and dimensional modeling
- • Strong ability to translate complex data into intuitive, actionable insights
- • Demonstrated experience partnering with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions
- • Strong understanding of data storytelling, usability, and visualization best practices
- • Working knowledge of data pipelines, ETL/ELT concepts, and integrating data from multiple sources
- • Proficiency in SQL, including stored procedures, views, and database objects
- • Experience with System Analysis & Design and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- • Ability to handle competing priorities and deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight
- Preferred Skills
- • Excellent communication, organization, and facilitation skills
- • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret requirements and reverse-engineer existing solutions when documentation is limited
- • Experience with Power BI or comparable BI/reporting tools
- • Experience using Atlassian Jira
- • Prior experience or familiarity with TEA applications and programs
