Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer (Snowflake & Python)
Location: Westlake, TX (Onsite Monday–Friday during alternate Connect Weeks)
Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Power BI Developer with strong expertise in Power BI reporting, Snowflake data modeling, and Python scripting. The ideal candidate will lead the migration of enterprise reporting solutions to Power BI, build scalable semantic models, optimize DAX performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reusable reporting frameworks and best practices.
This role requires a hands-on problem solver who can proactively identify optimization opportunities and drive reporting excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards and reports.
Migrate existing reporting assets from legacy platforms to Power BI.
Build and manage robust semantic models for scalable analytics solutions.
Optimize DAX calculations and improve report performance.
Determine optimal placement of calculations between Power BI and Snowflake to maximize efficiency.
Collaborate with COE, data engineering, and business teams on reusable templates and reporting standards.
Develop custom export and reporting solutions using Python when required.
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across Power BI and Snowflake environments.
Ensure reporting solutions follow governance, security, and best-practice guidelines.
Required Skills
8+ years of BI/Data Analytics experience.
5+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
Strong expertise in:
Power BI Report Development
DAX Performance Optimization
Semantic Modeling
Power BI Service Administration
Snowflake Data Warehousing
Data Modeling & Query Optimization
Python scripting and automation
Experience migrating reports from legacy reporting platforms to Power BI.
Strong understanding of where to implement business logic (database vs. reporting layer).
Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.
