PostgresSQL DBA / Data Engineer 100% Remote Contract Job

We have a 6+ month contract position open for a PostgresSQL DBA / Data Engineer to Begin the work in staging, with any production changes performed through our established change-control process.

The DBA will partner with engineering on the Liquibase strategy, privilege model, database cleanup, reporting, and overall database stability.

The DBA would focus on the following areas:Liquibase and schema management We’ve encountered deployment and login issues when database schema changes are incomplete or Liquibase is disabled, including missing columns following recent releases. We need someone to help establish a reliable migration strategy, validate schemas across environments, and create safe deployment and rollback procedures.

Superuser and least-privilege access Complete and validate the transition away from using the PostgreSQL superuser for application connectivity. This includes establishing appropriate least-privilege application users, credential rotation, and ensuring deployments remain stable.

Database cleanup and maintenance Review and clean up stale or orphaned data, unused database objects, and other database hygiene issues that currently make troubleshooting and deployments more difficult.

Reporting and performance Support our reporting requirements through query and performance tuning, report-friendly views or data structures where appropriate, and guidance to ensure reporting remains accurate and performant as the schema and privilege model evolves.
