A leading growth equity firm is seeking a Portfolio Monitoring & Valuation Analyst to join its Finance team in Boston.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of private markets, valuation, portfolio analytics, and AI-enabled automation. The Analyst will take meaningful ownership across quarterly valuations, portfolio company reporting, investor and regulatory reporting, and the development of tools that improve how the team works.

  • What You'll Do
  • Drive portfolio monitoring and reporting across a large private investment portfolio
  • Prepare and analyze quarterly private company valuations
  • Work with investment professionals on company performance, valuation inputs, and investment-specific considerations
  • Analyze cap tables, dilution, liquidation preferences, waterfalls, and value allocation
  • Support LP, regulatory, fundraising, and ad hoc portfolio reporting
  • Improve data quality, reporting processes, and analytical workflows
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual work and build practical internal tools using platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Python, Anaplan, Chronograph, Power BI, or similar technologies
  • What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in private equity, growth equity, investment banking, valuation, transaction advisory, public accounting, hedge funds, or investment management
  • Strong understanding of private company valuation and fund economics
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience working with complex financial data and reporting
  • Exposure to portfolio monitoring, valuation, or private markets strongly preferred
  • Genuine interest in AI, automation, and process improvement
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership mentality, and ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a quantitative discipline
