Detailed Job Description:

Job Title: Payroll tax Analyst

  • Location: Los Angeles, CA (On-site)
  • Schedule: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Pay Rate : $50-52/hr

Excel Test - to be conducted during the 2nd round IN PERSON interview with the managers. This will be a timed test with pivot tables, formulas and other skills testing requirements.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support payroll operations in a fast-paced, large corporate environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and supporting payroll-related projects. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, experience handling payroll data, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

Process end-to-end payroll for union and non-union employees across multiple pay frequencies

Perform payroll adjustments, data entry, and schedule updates in systems

Audit and reconcile payroll and HR data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies

Manage employee garnishments and ensure timely, compliant processing

Generate reports and analyze payroll data using Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables)

Support system testing activities.

Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues efficiently

Ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies

Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams on payroll-related initiatives

Assist with special projects and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of payroll experience in a large organization

Experience with Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or other major HCM system preferred

Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Knowledge of payroll processes, compliance, and HR systems

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Ability to work independently and in a team environment
