  • About the Role
  • The Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst will be responsible for managing payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, reporting, and regulatory requirements across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This role requires extensive knowledge of payroll tax legislation, accounting principles, audit requirements, and payroll systems.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, advanced Workday expertise, and the ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and reconcile employer and employee payroll tax contributions firmwide.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Evaluate multi-state and multi-jurisdiction payroll tax calculations and reporting.
  • Process accurate withholding tax payments across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage payroll tax notices, compliance inquiries, and agency correspondence.
  • Serve as a liaison with payroll vendors including Workday, ADP, and other third-party providers.
  • Perform reconciliations between Workday payroll tax reports and third-party tax filings.
  • Support quarterly and year-end payroll tax reporting activities.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of payroll transactions impacting tax withholding and reporting.
  • Document payroll tax procedures, workflows, and reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Accounting, and General Ledger teams to resolve tax variances.
  • Monitor legislative changes and implement payroll tax updates as required.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Qualifications
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of payroll and payroll tax experience.
  • At least 3 years of multi-state payroll tax experience.
  • Advanced expertise with Workday HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience managing payroll tax reconciliations and compliance reporting.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within a law firm, professional services, or large corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of ADP payroll systems.
  • Experience supporting payroll audits and regulatory compliance reviews.
  • Familiarity with payroll process documentation and internal controls.
