About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-driven US Workday Payroll Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing our end-to-end payroll operations for US employees. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in Workday Payroll, including integrations with ADP, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. You will be responsible for processing biweekly US payroll, validating earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Additionally, the Payroll Analyst will support internal and external audits, troubleshoot payroll errors, and collaborate with HR and Benefits teams to ensure data accuracy. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work remotely, with a requirement to reside within commuting distance of our LA, NYC, or SF hubs.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 7+ years of US payroll processing experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Payroll
  • Expertise in multi-state payroll processing and tax allocations
  • Strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local tax regulations and wage laws
  • Experience with payroll audits and reconciliations
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions
  • Experience with ADP SmartCompliance or similar compliance tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot system errors and resolve discrepancies efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly US payroll in Workday, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Validate earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments for each payroll cycle
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Manage multi-state payroll processing and allocate taxes appropriately
  • Maintain compliance with IRS and state tax authorities, supporting audits as needed
  • Prepare and validate year-end reporting, including W-2s and other required documentation
  • Troubleshoot payroll errors, discrepancies, and system issues in collaboration with the Sr Global Payroll Analyst
  • Partner with HR and Benefits teams to ensure accurate data integration into payroll systems
  • Develop, maintain, and improve payroll reports and calculated fields within Workday
  • Analyze payroll variances and prepare detailed reports for management
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process efficiencies in payroll workflows
  • Document payroll processes, controls, and system enhancements to ensure compliance and consistency
  • Support payroll system upgrades, implementations, and ongoing system improvements
