About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our finance team at Fairlead Integrated. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the payroll process for over 300 employees, ensuring timely and accurate compensation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll systems, compliance regulations, and accounting principles. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure payroll is processed seamlessly, and all related financial records are maintained accurately.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess an Associate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; a degree in Accounting is preferred. A minimum of two years of payroll experience is required, with demonstrated proficiency in using integrated and automated payroll accounting systems. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effectively addressing employee inquiries and collaborating with team members. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times. Attention to detail and accuracy are critical, along with excellent problem-solving skills. The role requires strong organizational abilities and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure, managing multiple tasks and adhering to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and processing of weekly and biweekly payrolls for over 300 employees, reviewing and verifying the accuracy of approved timesheets.
• Track and deduct all garnishments, pay levies, and other special payroll deductions in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Administer the electronic timekeeping system, monitor submissions of approved timesheets, and ensure valid data transfer to payroll software.
• Review payroll changes for proper authorization, ensuring adherence to Fairlead policy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support the processing and filing of weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll taxes and deductions.
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
