  • Job Description - Part-Time Reconciliation & Cash Reporting Analyst (12 Hours per Week)
  • Position Summary
  • SolomonEdwards is seeking a Part-Time Reconciliation & Cash Reporting Analyst to support one of our leading fintech clients. This opportunity is ideal for a bachelor’s or master’s degree student, recent graduate, or an experienced accounting or finance professional seeking a flexible, long-term part-time opportunity.
  • The ideal candidate has advanced to expert-level Microsoft Excel skills developed through hands-on work experience and enjoys working with detailed financial data, reconciliations, and process-oriented tasks. The client also prefers the candidate to have some experience with Asset Backed Securities analysis and reporting which is required.
  • Working alongside a collaborative accounting team, you will support daily reconciliation activities, transaction matching, payment processing, and financial data validation. As the role evolves, there may also be opportunities to assist with data mapping and process improvement initiatives.
  • This position is expected to continue for up to one year or longer and is ideal for someone seeking a long-term commitment of approximately 12 plus hours per week.
  • The client is headquartered near Grand Central Station in New York City. Both onsite and remote candidates will be considered.
  • Essential Duties
  • Perform daily account and transaction reconciliations and cash reconciliations reporting.
  • Match financial transactions and research reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Process and reconcile payment transfers between multiple entities.
  • Validate financial data and investigate variances.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel to analyze large datasets and reconcile transactions.
  • Support accounting operations and financial reporting activities.
  • Assist with data mapping and validation projects as business needs evolve.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely completion of assigned work.
  • Partner with accounting and finance team members to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc analysis.
  • Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Advanced or expert-level Microsoft Excel skills demonstrated through practical work experience.
  • Previous accounting, finance, banking, reconciliation, bookkeeping, financial operations, or analytical experience preferred not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while managing recurring weekly responsibilities.
  • Ability to commit to approximately 10 hours per week on a long-term basis (expected duration of up to one year or longer).

Salary Range: SolomonEdwards values your unique and individual experience and background. As such, we take a comprehensive approach when determining compensation for our roles. The compensation for this specific role is based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to education, licensure and certifications, location, experience, and training. A reasonable estimate for the current hourly range for this role is $50 – 55.
