Overview
The Collection Analyst is responsible for managing a substantial portfolio of Ad Sales for Local TV Stations, identifying and resolving discrepancies, maintaining consistent payment patterns, and building strong customer relationships. This position plays a direct role in optimizing cash flow and reducing bad debt while supporting Paramount's Order to Cash team.
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned Ad Sales collections portfolio ranging from $10M to $125M
- Contact customers to collect outstanding receivables using various collection methods
- Maintain detailed documentation of customer communications
- Perform timely follow up to ensure invoices are paid within agreed payment terms
- Investigate and resolve high volume billing discrepancies with internal stakeholders
- Monitor and achieve key collection metrics including cash targets, aging, DSO, and overdue balances
- Prepare cash forecast projections for leadership
- Partner with Sales, Credit, Cash Application, and Finance to resolve payment delays
- Prepare routine management reports and participate in aging reviews
- Support customer requests including statements, invoice copies, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Participate in month end close activities with OTC and Controllership teams
- Maintain accurate Accounts Receivable records
- Support audit requests by providing documentation and explanations of outstanding balances
- Prepare discrepancy reports and refund requests
- Escalate deteriorating customer payment trends
- Analyze aging reports, discrepancy reports, and cash packages
- Support continuous process improvements and adoption of AI driven solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 0 to 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, Billing, or similar finance functions
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills
- Experience working with large data sets and high transaction volume
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced and evolving environment
- ERP or financial systems experience preferred, including SAP or Oracle
- Media industry experience is a plus
- Spanish bilingual skills are a plus
Pay Rate: $18.66 to $23.89/hour
