Summary
We are seeking an experienced OT Cybersecurity Analyst contractor to support the execution of Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity site assessments across enterprise manufacturing, industrial, and operational environments.
This role will play a critical part in advancing the organization’s broader OT cybersecurity program through assessment execution, risk identification, documentation, and remediation support.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in industrial control systems (ICS), OT cybersecurity frameworks, and site-level cybersecurity assessments within critical infrastructure or manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct OT cybersecurity site assessments across manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, and operational environments.
Evaluate OT environments for cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps. Assess industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, historians, and supporting OT infrastructure.
Document current-state OT architectures, asset inventories, network segmentation, and security controls. Identify gaps against OT cybersecurity standards, policies, and best practices. Support risk analysis and remediation planning activities.
Develop assessment reports, findings documentation, and executive summaries. Collaborate with site operations, engineering, IT, and cybersecurity teams during assessments and remediation discussions. Support development and maturation of the enterprise OT cybersecurity program.
Assist with OT security governance, standards alignment, and continuous improvement initiatives. Track remediation actions and support follow-up validation activities. Maintain awareness of emerging OT threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in OT/ICS cybersecurity or industrial network security. Experience conducting cybersecurity assessments within OT or industrial environments. Working knowledge of: ICS/SCADA systems Industrial networking protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, etc.) PLCs, HMIs, historians, and control systems Network segmentation and OT architecture Familiarity with OT cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as: NIST CSF IEC 62443 NIST 800-82 ISA/IEC standards
Experience with vulnerability identification and risk assessment methodologies. Strong documentation and technical reporting skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and operational stakeholders. Willingness to travel to operational sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing, energy, utilities, oil & gas, or critical infrastructure sectors. Knowledge of OT asset discovery and monitoring tools. Experience supporting enterprise OT cybersecurity programs. Relevant certifications preferred: GICSP CISSP GRID Security+ ISA/IEC 62443 certificationsOT Technologies & Platforms
Experience Candidates should have familiarity with a broad range of Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control System (ICS) technologies, including:
Industrial Control Systems & AutomationSCADA systems Distributed Control Systems (DCS) Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) Industrial historians and data collection platforms Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)Industrial Networking & ProtocolsIndustrial Ethernet networks Layer 2 / Layer 3 industrial switching and routing Network segmentation and Purdue Model architectures Industrial wireless technologies OT remote access solutions
Familiarity with industrial protocols such as: Modbus DNP3 OPC / OPC-UA EtherNet/IP Profinet BACnet MQTTOT Security TechnologiesOT asset discovery and monitoring platforms Network intrusion detection systems (NIDS) OT vulnerability management tools Industrial firewalls and segmentation technologies Secure remote access solutions Endpoint protection within OT environments Backup and recovery technologies for industrial systems Vendor & Platform Familiarity
Experience with one or more major industrial vendors/platforms is preferred, including:Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley Siemens Schneider Electric GE Digital Honeywell Emerson ABB Yokogawa Cloud & Connectivity (Preferred)Integration between OT and enterprise IT environments Industrial IoT (IIoT) technologies Edge computing platforms OT data integration into cloud environments
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
Additional Information
This is a contract role supporting a large-scale OT cybersecurity initiative. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively across IT, OT, engineering, and operational teams. Travel requirements may vary depending on assessment schedules and site locations.
