Job Overview

This role provides senior-level expertise in integrating intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and sensor systems with Army firepower capabilities. The Ops Research Analyst, Journeyman will lead efforts to develop requirements, inform modernization strategies, and ensure effective integration of sensor-to-shooter architectures across formations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Army fires, targeting, or ISR operations and a strong background in capability development within TRADOC or similar environments.

Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established the Government customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior subject matter expert for ISR and sensor integration with firepower systems.
  • Lead development and refinement of capability requirements and JCIDS documentation (ICDs, CDDs, CPDs).
  • Integrate ISR capabilities into sensor-to-shooter architectures and targeting processes.
  • Provide expertise on target acquisition, RSTA operations, and fire support integration.
  • Support development of CONOPS, doctrine, and modernization strategies.
  • Coordinate across TRADOC, Army Futures Command (AFC), PEOs, intelligence and fires communities.
  • Participate in and lead experimentation, demonstrations, and field evaluations.
  • Analyze emerging technologies and adversary capabilities to inform future ISR and firepower integration.
  • Provide senior-level briefings, recommendations, and decision support to government leadership.
  • Mentor team members and ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.

Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of laser optics, ballistics, and fire control integration.
  • Understanding of JCIDS and acquisition lifecycle requirements.
  • Ability to assess operational utility and performance of aiming systems.
  • Experience engaging with acquisition, testing, and training stakeholders.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in military science, Intelligence, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 12–15+ years of experience in Army fires, ISR operations, targeting, or capability development.
  • Deep knowledge of ISR systems, sensor integration, and targeting processes.
  • Strong understanding of sensor-to-shooter integration and fire support networks.
  • Experience with JCIDS, DOTMLPF-P, and Army capability development processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in operational or capability development environments.

Security Requirement

Active Secret Security Clearance (TS/SCI may be required based on tasking)

Preferred Skills

  • Former Field Grade Officer (MAJ/LTC), Warrant Officer, or Senior NCO in Fires, Intelligence, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting TRADOC, CDID, Army Futures Command (AFC), or joint capability development organizations.
  • Knowledge of targeting systems, UAS integration, sensors, and advanced ISR technologies.
  • Experience with test & evaluation, experimentation, or requirements validation.
  • Familiarity with Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and cross-domain integration.
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
