Business Analyst – Medicare Technology
- Position Overview
- We are seeking a Business Analyst to translate Medicare business needs and strategic priorities into clear, actionable technology requirements. Working closely with the Business Solutions Lead and cross-functional partners, this individual will lead requirements gathering and documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate combines Medicare business knowledge with strong analytical, communication, and requirements-management skills.
- Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand Medicare strategies, processes, challenges, and desired outcomes.
- Lead the discovery, development, and documentation of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate complex business needs into clear requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Manage requirements and project documentation within Jira.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and help stakeholders clarify priorities.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize complex processes.
- Analyze the impact of proposed changes across systems, applications, and business operations.
- Support development and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle by answering questions and refining requirements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate, timely documentation.
- Communicate project needs, decisions, risks, and dependencies to business and technical stakeholders.
- Required Qualifications
- Medicare business knowledge and experience supporting Medicare-related initiatives.
- Experience defining, documenting, and managing functional and non-functional requirements.
- Working knowledge of system architecture and application portfolios.
- Experience using Jira for requirements management, user stories, or prototyping.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, iterative development, or OWF.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex concepts and processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Education and Experience
- Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of information technology experience;
- Technical certification and/or college coursework and at least four years of information technology experience; or
- At least six years of information technology experience.
