- Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
- Duration: 12 Months, with transition to the client after 1 year
- Job Summary:
- The Materials Analyst 1 will support materials planning, inventory management, supply chain analysis, and demand forecasting activities within a manufacturing environment. This role will analyze material requirements, monitor inventory and material availability, identify shortages and supply risks, and support production schedules and customer demand. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of relevant materials, inventory, or supply chain experience along with strong ERP/MRP, data analysis, and reporting skills.
- Responsibilities:
- Analyze material requirements and support planning activities to align with production schedules and customer demand.
- Monitor inventory levels and material availability to identify shortages, excess inventory, and potential supply risks.
- Track and report key inventory metrics to improve inventory accuracy and reduce excess and obsolete materials.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Planning, Operations, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability.
- Evaluate material movement and inventory transactions to maintain data integrity and support efficient production operations.
- Support inventory cycle count programs, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to improve inventory control.
- Generate and maintain reports covering material performance, inventory trends, shortages, and forecasted requirements.
- Assist in reviewing purchase orders, material change notices, and demand fluctuations to ensure adequate supply coverage.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of material planning processes, procedures, and inventory control practices.
- Analyze excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory and recommend disposition strategies to minimize financial impact.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve material-related issues and support on-time delivery objectives.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives to improve supply chain and material management performance.
- Travel as required.
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in materials planning, inventory analysis, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related analytical role.
- Experience with materials planning and inventory management.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience with demand planning and forecasting.
- Experience analyzing material shortages and potential supply risks.
- Experience supporting inventory accuracy and cycle count activities.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory analysis.
- Purchase order and material change management experience.
- Supplier coordination experience.
- Experience investigating inventory discrepancies.
- Experience with inventory KPIs and metrics.
- Production planning experience.
- Continuous improvement experience.
- Experience coordinating with Procurement and Warehouse teams.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and/or Power BI experience.
- Lean or Six Sigma experience.
- Supplier performance and delivery tracking experience.
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing.
- MRP planning experience.
- Work Requirements:
- Onsite position in Milpitas, California.
- Travel as required.
