Market Data Agreements Attorney

JURISolutions Legal (JSL) is seeking a highly motivated attorney for a 9‑month secondment with our financial services client, supporting a strategic initiative focused on digitizing and analyzing market data contracts. This role sits at the intersection of law and technology, working with an AI-powered platform to extract and validate complex contractual data usage rights. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an innovative digital rights management program while applying deep expertise in contract interpretation.

• The Role
• Conduct Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) legal review of AI-extracted contract data against original source agreements
• Analyze and interpret contractual terms across approximately 750 documents from key market data vendors
• Validate the accuracy and completeness of extracted data usage rights and related provisions
• Review key clauses including data usage permissions and restrictions, termination, renewals, payment terms, reporting obligations, and audit rights
• Provide legal guidance on interpretation of complex contractual language
• Input corrections, annotations, and comments directly within a proprietary digital platform
• Identify discrepancies and escalate ambiguous provisions to internal subject matter experts
• Support a broader initiative to modernize and digitize contract rights management processes

Requirements

• Qualified attorney with strong experience in market data contracts and/or data licensing agreements
• Deep understanding of contractual terms related to data usage rights
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to interpret complex legal language
• Comfortable working within structured, technology-driven review workflows
• Prior experience in financial services or working with market data vendors is highly preferred
• Expected to start near the end of July for a 9-month engagement (approx. 40 hours per week)

Location: Midtown Manhattan or Jersey City (hybrid, minimum 3 days in-office) — flexibility may be considered for exceptional candidates in alternative locations.
