  • About the Role
  • We are seeking a financially minded, agile, and entrepreneurial Manager of Merchandising Analytics to join our growing team. This brand new role is ideal for someone with 5+ years of experience in retail, consumer products, or product manufacturing environments who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative business.

The ideal candidate understands both the numbers and the product lifecycle — someone who can analyze profitability, manage forecasting, support margin strategy, and partner cross-functionally with merchandising, product development, sourcing, sales, and operations teams.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is adaptable, solutions-oriented, and excited by the opportunity to help drive financial decision-making within a dynamic consumer goods business.

  • This is not a highly corporate or siloed finance role. We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Financially curious and creatively analytical
  • Agile and adaptable in a rapidly evolving business
  • Comfortable working independently and proactively
  • Passionate about consumer products and retail
  • Interested in helping shape strategy — not just report numbers
  • Excited to work cross-functionally and influence business decisions
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and analyze product costing, margin calculations, and profitability modeling across multiple product categories and retail channels
  • Build and maintain financial models related to pricing, sourcing, landed cost analysis, and retailer margin requirements
  • Support Merchandising leadership with ownership of forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning initiatives
  • Analyze business performance trends and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
  • Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, product development, sourcing, and sales teams to evaluate new product opportunities
  • Monitor and report on forecast actualization, margin trends, and overall financial performance metrics
  • Assist in retailer-specific financial analysis including promotional planning, pricing strategies, and assortment profitability
  • Support month-end close activities related to sales actualization, costing, and margin reporting
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations that support growth, innovation, and financial optimization

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in merchandising finance, buying, merchandise planning, or related financial roles required
  • Experience within retail, consumer products, or product manufacturing environments required
  • Strong understanding of all merchandising financial analytics required
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required
  • Experience working with fast-turn consumer goods categories strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting financial analytics to senior leadership, retail partners, etc.
  • Ability to come to our office in New Providence, NJ approximately 4 times/month
