Manager, Data Engineering (Snowflake)

As Manager of Data Engineering, you'll lead the team and the platform at the heart of it, turning modern data into better care and smarter operations across the system.

What Will You Do:

• Serve as a player/coach, mentoring and managing a team of skilled Senior Data Engineers while remaining hands on and leading by example
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the Snowflake Enterprise Data Warehouse, providing strategic and technical guidance across data architecture, modeling, performance tuning, and governance to ensure robust, scalable solutions
• Design, implement, and automate ELT pipelines in Snowflake, writing transformations in dbt, with orchestration to manage dependencies, execution, and scheduling
• Own the data modeling and architecture for the Snowflake EDW, structuring enterprise data with dimensional modeling (facts and dimensions, star schema) best practices to give analytics, BI, and data science teams a trusted, scalable foundation
• Collaborate with business partners and build enterprise grade data processing and transformation pipelines that enable teams across Data Science, Analytics, and Business Intelligence to apply machine learning, generate insights, and create interactive dashboards that address critical business challenges
• Lead the evaluation and integration of new data sources into the EDW, assessing technical feasibility and aligning with business objectives for optimal data delivery
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, proactively recommending innovations to enhance and evolve data capabilities

• this is a people management data engineering role that is HIGHLY hands-on
• full-time MOSTLY REMOTE role w/ minimal travel to HQ

Responsibilities/Experience:

• Bachelors or Masters is required
• Healthcare experience is a MUST
• Snowflake + dbt + SQL experience is a MUST
• Must have 2+ years of people management experience
• 10+ years of experience as a hands-on Data Engineer (ELT / ETL, data pipelines)
• Excellent experience with data modeling
