Mainframe Triage Analyst

• Role: Mainframe Triage Analyst
• Location: 100% Remote
• Duration: 6 Months Contract-to-Hire

Experience

• 6–10+ years of experience preferred (flexible based on skill set)
• Required Skills
• Strong Mainframe experience with COBOL and CICS
• Approximately 80% CICS and 20% batch processing
• Proven troubleshooting and debugging expertise
• Experience analyzing code issues (not development)
• Hands-on experience with:
• Xpeditor
• Abend-Aid
• Ability to independently investigate and resolve issues
• Exposure to or experience with AI technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in an evolving environment
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building processes from scratch
• Strong collaboration skills across multiple development teams
• Preferred Skills
• Experience with Java, .NET, or other applications
• Healthcare industry experience (preferred but not required)
• Core Responsibilities
• Intake and triage tickets from development teams
• Investigate issues raised in ServiceNow
• Troubleshoot code and system behavior
• Perform root cause analysis
• Determine the appropriate resolution path:
• Resolve simple issues directly
• Escalate coding-related issues to development teams
• Support multiple claims applications and teams
• Help establish:
• Intake processes
• Triage workflows
• Backlog tracking mechanisms
• Contribute to AI enablement initiatives by identifying trends and recurring issues to improve triage efficiency over time
