Our mission is to combine machine learning, physics-based modeling, and real-world energy data to build trustworthy forecasting systems for power grids. We’re looking for highly motivated Machine Learning Research Interns who want to work on real research problems and ship production-ready ML system.

• Role Description
• As a Machine Learning Research Intern (Unpaid) at Pulse, you will support research projects focused on applying machine learning methods to energy-related data and challenges. This involves designing and implementing experimental workflows, building and evaluating models, and assisting in data preprocessing and analysis. You will collaborate with researchers to explore pattern recognition and neural network approaches, document methodologies and findings, and help prepare reports, presentations, or publications. The role may also include reviewing scientific literature, participating in lab meetings, and contributing to the development of tools or prototypes that support ongoing research and outreach efforts.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and Programming skills (e.g., Python or similar languages) for implementing machine learning models.
• Knowledge of Statistics and Pattern Recognition techniques to analyze data and evaluate model performance.
• Understanding of Neural Networks and related machine learning concepts, including training, validation, and optimization.
• Relevant coursework or projects in machine learning, data science, or related fields; familiarity with common ML libraries and tools is beneficial.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
